ABOUT SUDAN

Islam is the predominant religion of Sudan, practiced by 91-97% of the population, the vast majority are Sunni Muslims.

The predominant faith is Islam and is woven into the cultural, social fabric of the country.

Christianity is the largest minority faith in Sudan accounting for roughly 1.4% - 5.4% of the population.

Traditional beliefs are practiced by a very small percentage of the population, typically under 3%. They adhere to indigenous African beliefs.

In Sudan the predominant language they speak is Sudanese Arabic. The official languages are Literary Arabic and English.

Following the 2011 independence of South Sudan—which was heavily Christian—the population of Sudan became significantly more homogeneous and predominantly Muslim.

Sudan split into two countries in 2011 because the Christian and animist South (who believe in a spirit world rather than a single, all-powerful God) sought separation from the Arab and Muslim-majority north. This historic separation was the result of brutal civil wars that were fought over ethnic and religious divides and political marginalisation by the central government.

This all sounds too familiar.

This information I found on Wikipedia.

They will not conquer Christianity here. An all-powerful God is watching 👀 🙏.

"The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night." (Psalm 121: 5)
